For Creators
Sell digital products without a marketplace taking a cut
Upload your ebook, template, preset pack, music file, or any digital product to Hostupa. Password-protect it, sell through your own store or payment link, and share the access password with paying customers. No marketplace fees, no platform approval process.
How creators use Hostupa to sell digital downloads
Digital marketplaces take 10-30% of your revenue and control the customer relationship. Hostupa gives creators a direct sales model: host the digital product, gate it with a password, sell through your own channel (Gumroad, Stripe, PayPal, your website), and share the password with customers who pay. You keep full revenue, you own the customer relationship, and you can revoke access if chargebacks occur.
How it works
Upload your digital product
Upload your ebook, template, preset pack, music, or any file. Hostupa serves it on a hosted URL with a built-in viewer or download option.
Password-protect the content
Set a password so only paying customers can access the product. Sell through Gumroad, Stripe, PayPal, or your own website.

Frequently asked questions
Can I sell digital downloads on Hostupa?
Hostupa does not include built-in payment processing, but it works with any sales platform. Upload your product, password-protect it, and sell through Gumroad, Stripe, PayPal, or your own website. After purchase, send the customer the hosted URL and password. This lets you keep full revenue without marketplace fees.
How do I prevent unauthorised sharing of my digital product?
Password protection is the primary access control. Only customers who receive the password can view or download the product. Change the password periodically (monthly or quarterly) to limit the impact of sharing. For higher security, create separate projects for each customer so you can revoke access individually.
What file types can I sell as digital downloads?
Hostupa supports any file type: PDFs (ebooks, guides), ZIP archives (templates, presets, software), images (stock photos, wallpapers), audio (music, sound effects), video, and more. Files are served in their original format without re-encoding.
Can I update my digital product after launching?
Yes. Re-upload the updated file to the same project and the URL stays identical. Customers who purchased earlier and bookmarked the link will see the updated version on their next visit. This is useful for releasing new versions of templates, fixing errors in ebooks, or adding new presets to a pack.
How do I revoke access for chargebacks or refunds?
If you use a shared password, change it to cut off access for everyone, then re-share the new password with remaining valid customers. If you use per-customer projects, simply change the password on that specific customer's project. Either way, access is revoked instantly — the customer's old password no longer works.
